We are looking for an experienced Research Analyst to join our team. The Research Analyst will be responsible for collecting raw data from our internal database, cleaning and coding the data, and conducting thorough analysis to extract actionable insights. These insights will be presented through well-written, published reports.
Core tasks
- Data Sourcing: Collecting and sourcing data from multiple reliable channels to provide a foundation for research work.
- Data Cleaning: Ensuring datasets are accurate and organized by cleaning raw data to remove errors, redundancies, or inconsistencies.
- Coding & Analysis: Using software like STATA to create and interpret visual representations of data such as graphs and figures and developing scripts for efficient analysis.
- Literature Reviews: Writing detailed and independent literature reviews to summarize existing knowledge on relevant topics.
- Report Writing: Assisting in co-authoring comprehensive research reports, often exceeding 60 pages, providing in-depth analysis and findings.
- Presenting Research: Presenting key research findings at conferences and events, helping to communicate insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Trend Analysis: Analysing data trends and identifying key insights that can lead to the development of new research topics or areas of focus.
Key Skills
- Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a in a research role with proven experience in data analysis and academic or business writing.
- Education: 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in relevant qualification (i.e. Economics).
- Data Collection: Ability to collect, organize, and manage research data effectively, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to perform data analysis using statistical software, particularly STATA, interpreting results, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of research tasks, including data entry, coding, and documentation.
- Research Writing: Demonstrating excellent writing skills, including strong grammar, syntax, and a clear writing style, to co-author high-quality, detailed research reports of 60+ pages.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically, identify patterns, and solve problems creatively during the research process.
- Presenting: Presenting research findings in a concise and engaging manner, both in written form and orally, at conferences and events.
