Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum depending on experience

We provide valuable business insights and content through our monthly subscription service (this includes a monthly executive summary, podcast, literature review, bibliography and more), full 60-page reports and consultancy.

job purpose

Leveraging their extensive experience and expertise in research methodologies, data analysis, and report writing, the Senior Research Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping research strategies, methodologies, and deliverables.

They are responsible for conducting in-depth data analysis, interpreting findings, and generating actionable recommendations that address key business challenges and opportunities.

Additionally, they will contribute to the mentorship and learning of junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the research team.

core tasks

  • Research Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define research objectives, scope, and methodologies for projects.
  • Data Sourcing: Collect, examine, and clean raw data from various sources, including interviews, presentations, conferences, and surveys from Akabo Media’s exhibitions and events.
  • Qualitative and Quantitative Research: Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather and analyse data effectively.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize mathematical, statistical, and analytical models to identify patterns and trends in data, providing actionable recommendations for strategic growth and influencing business decisions.
  • Statistical Analysis Proficiency: Possess expertise in statistical analysis and proficiency in using software such as STATA to derive comprehensive insights and clean data.
  • Graphical Representation: Develop high-quality graphical representations of data, analyses, and learnings to enhance understanding and visualization.
  • Data Presentation: Compile information drawn from the data into succinct and clear findings presented in reports and presentations, facilitating decision-making processes.
  • Report Writing: Articulate data and translate information into concise, compelling reports that are easily understood by non-technical readers, maintaining accuracy and up-to-date factual information.
  • Presenting: Attend and present at conferences and events to stay connected with industry professionals and share insights.

 

key skills

  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in a research role.
  • Education: Minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in relevant qualification i.e. Statistics, Economics etc.
  • Research Methodologies: Proficiency in various research methodologies and techniques, including literature reviews, data collection methods, and qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Data Collection: Ability to collect, organize, and manage research data effectively, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to perform data analysis using statistical software or other tools, interpreting results, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of research tasks, including data entry, coding, and documentation.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey research findings, collaborate with team members, and present information to stakeholders.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically, identify patterns, and solve problems creatively during the research process.
  • Teamwork: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with other researchers, analysts, and stakeholders on research projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for research purposes, such as statistical analysis software STATA, database management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in project requirements, research methodologies, or priorities as needed.
  • Willingness to travel.
